Seed and Husk, Lennox Head

A delightful family-owned and run health store, Seed and Husk is my go-to spot for a cuppa in Lennox Head. A bulk health foods store, owners Richelle and George Chrysastomou have recently expanded the shop and added a great range of snacks to their existing juice and coffee/tea menu, including vegan pies that I am currently testing through the variations.

My daily go-to is the Sticky Masala Chia on coconut and macadamia milk, but if I am feeling the desire to change things up I can't go past their beetroot latte. They also stock a range of locally made raw vegan desserts that serve my sweet tooth all too well.

Richelle is a qualified naturopath with a wealth of knowledge and runs a small dispensary from the store, which sells a great variety of bulk foods and some spray-free, organic produce.

The team have recently opened up the back area as a cafe garden, the perfect spot to sit and enjoy a cuppa in the morning sunshine.

Seed and Husk is open Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays for the loving team to have a well deserved day of rest.

Our Corner Kitchen, Bangalow

Tucked away on an airy deck off the main street of Bangalow, NSW, Our Corner Kitchen was once one of my preferred digital gypsy cafe work spaces, yet until today I had not ventured there for over a year.

Currently not on the menu anymore, but by far the best vegan option so be sure to ask the kitchen if they can whip up the seeded avocado and sourdough dish.

To my horror, my vegan breakkie dish of choice has been replaced with avocado on toast, but trauma was soon avoided when the chef overheard my request for the 'old skool avo special' and my wish was her command: seeded avocado on sourdough with a slice of lemon. At $18 it is not the most sustainable breakfast option, but it gets my thumbs up every time.

Their sticky chai tea is one of my favourites in the region, and best served creamy on organic soy milk.
